I didn't see any specific tasting notes on this and since I just grabed some based upon the WS92 rating I was interrested in hearing what your thoughts are?
This is a quick TN from this last summer when I took a bottle of it with me on vacation.
'Seghesio Zinfandel 2002 Sonoma County, took up to Torch Lk. Color, purple, bluish. Nose powerful of fruits, taste was so very juicy and jammy, dark black raspberries and cherries a touch of spice, pepper a tiny bit of heat on the finish. Much oak but not overpowering. Liked and will do again for sure!
2002 Seghesio Sonoma Zinfandel, $14.99, 15.2% alc.: Dark garnet, with sweet, toasty oak over a wide spectrum of red, black and blue berries in both flavor and aroma, and accented with more than a hint of mint; very pretty, but a bit angular when first opened, with moderate tannins, good acidity and a nice long finish. The wine smoothes out with air, becoming creamier, and some briary character comes out as well. Very nice, and one of the relatively few high quality $15 Zins still available; a worthy successor to the delicious 2001 model.
This is one that I didn't take formal notes on, but I had about 2 weeks ago and found very enjoyable. I remember jammy berry fruit, non descript tannin, and nice fruity nose with a decent finish. Fairly well balanced. I would certainly buy and drink again. Enjoy!
