Tonight we needed a nice wine to go with our corn chowder. We were a little leery opening a 2001 but I wanted to see if we should buy more.
The nose is a very nice pear with a small mineral component. The middle is pear with vanilla and very little butter. The finish is slightly oaky and of a good length. The color is a rather attractive very light gold. The wine is balanced and nicely acidic. It is somewhat light weight which makes it a good summer wine. If anything it will be better in 6 months or so. Not a long keeper but some bottle time should be beneficial.
A definite buy for the price. If you can get it for less "go forth and prosper".
