This was opened and decanted for half hour. needs more time.
Nose of red sweet fruit (very ripe). Some Barnyard, and wet ashtray (but very subtle). Fruit is dominating nose. Notes of leather. Some floral notes. In mouth, showed chalky tannins. Drying sensations. Too young. Medium acidity. Red ripe fruit (almost overly ripe). Medium finish, but the drying sensation keeps persisting. A bit hollow in mid palate. This was extremely feminine. Delicate. I would score this 90-91 pts, would score higher if the tannins had resolved. I'm afraid the tannins will outlast the fruit. Give this another 2-3 years I think.

Nice notes! I love Grivot's wines but wouldn't normally describe them as feminine for Burgundy, particularly the NSG's. This is very interesting. I have some '99's, '00's, '01's and '02's of his and have not yet broached any as the predictions are these all need more time. I have been slowly working my way through a case of his ordinary Bourgogne Rouge from '01 and even this needs more time (last bottle opened last night!).
