Purchased while on HHI during the holidays.

Just slightly turning amber; very clear and leggy wine. Honeyed pears, sweet-tart apples, almond, and toast on the palate. Creamy-smooth, only the slightest hint of oak, w/more sweet/spicy apples on the smooth, long finish.

Huge chard w/some time left if properly stored; 92 pts. - $42.50 and worth the expense for what is quite a rare wine around these parts.

Not surprised the 1997 El Molino Chard is still holding up in the cellar. His style for both the Chard and Pinot seem to be very rich and extract some barrel to give them the long life. I am still have a few of the 1997 Pinot in my locker in Chicago waiting for me to get home. Based on the last tasting a couple years ago, they will keep for another 5 years easy.
