Not decanted. Deep black/garnet color, opaque, leggy, and not much in the way of sediment.
Initial aromatics include green olives and mushrooms, then a floral component takes over before turning to sweet cedary oak and berry notes. Blackberry, tar, and cedar notes predominate the palate, w/plenty of talcum-like tannin and acidity.
Not completely balanced, not disjointed; just beginning to decline a little. Still, a very nice drink, esp. w/a perfectly-grilled filet w/sauteed baby portabellas. 86-87 pts., drink up.
