1994 Stonestreet Cab. Sauv. Alex. Valley, WS91: Dark ruby, throwing lots of sediment. Lovely sweet nose with raspberry but also some spice and leather. On the palate there are currant and anise, typical cab flavors, and just a hint of oak wrapped up in at least a few layers of complexity. The finish shows fully resolved tannins and is as smooth as a baby’s behind. CN92, IMHO drink up if you have it, I can’t imagine this could get much better.
1991 Rosemount Cab. Sauv. Coonawarra Show Res.: Very dark purple/ruby in color. Nice fruity nose. Mature cab flavors, the fruit is subdued but still present and enjoyable. Nice complexity with an enviable flush finish, CN91.
1994 Rosemount Cab. Sauv. Coonawarra Show Res.: Tasted in the non-analytical atmosphere of gathering of old friends, but similar to the notes for the 1991 tasted the day before, except the flavors are not as mature and there is noticeable oak apparent, CN90.
I have also pulled one each of the 1992 and 1995 vintages of the Coonawarra Show Res. cab from the cellar for evaluation soon.
