An 'Appellation Bourgogne Controlee' pinot from a solid producer obviously labeled for the US market. IW picked this up in upstate NY for about $25 - it was quite a find. Decanted for about 2-1/2 hrs.

Light garnet color w/excellent clarity, a big nose of sweet cherry, that barnyard-y funk thing, and sweet oak. Flavors grew in intensity during the hour consumed, first tart, then sweet cherries, a touch of tar, spice and oak. Hard to find anything wrong w/this 14 yr. old Burg...just a tad light on the palate indicates it'd be best served alongside a cheese or paté course.

86-87 pts., solid "B+" on the kybo QPR-meter. Drinking well know, should hold a few more years properly cellared.
