Sourced from own rooted vines planted in the 1890s. This is a blend of Zinfandel, Mataro and Carignan with small amounts of Alicante Bouschet, Grand Noir, Mission, Palomino and even a single, ancient Clairette Blanche vine. Dark Crimson color. This was a well balanced wine that paired very well with the smoked bbq burnt ends. Notes of deep red fruit with tobacco, blackberry and cedar. Medium bodied with a creamy finish. 93 points.
