This normally sells for $60. I bought a few at auction for $35. 100% Sangiovese from Panzano aged for 12 months on it's skins in orci (clay amphora). The orci are made in the families terracotta factory. This is one of the newer wines made by the estate having been first released in the 2009 vintage. This had a funky nose and I would have been well advised to decant it. Sweet cherries and lavenders on a soft palate. An earthy wine with moderate tannins. I would wait to open this wine and give it more time in bottle. 88 points.
