Purchased at the winery for $65. Named Pinot of the year by Gault Millau the year it was released. Furst is the best Pinot producer in the Franken region and among the top 5 overall in Germany. Opened but not decanted 2 hours before drinking. We drank this next to a 1er Cru Burgundy and an Oregon Pinot and this was my favorite of the 3 wines. Clear medium red color. Earthy nose and character. Notes of black fruit, charred oak and minerals. Soft and elegant finish.a style I really enjoy. 93 points.
