This estate only produced its own wines from 2011-2014. This vineyard was the source of the grapes for the Peter Michael Pinot Noir Le Caprice in 2007 and 2008 as well as Aubert and Sojourn Pinot Noir. The vineyard is planted to three unique clones: Calera, and two special “suitcase” clones from the Vosne-Romanée region of Burgundy. The winemaker was Matt Taylor (formerly Domaine Dujac, Joseph Swan, and Araujo).
I found this at auction for $25 (half price). 25% whole cluster. Aged 10 months in 40% new Remond French oak barrels. Not decanted. Crimson color with a little bricking. An earthy Pinot with cranberry and leather notes. Medium bodied. Integrated tannins. This is ready to drink now. 91 points.
