2011 Aberrant Cellars Pinot Noir Carpe Noctem - USA, Oregon, Willamette Valley (4/1/2018)

A $22 purchase on sale. About half of the Pinot in this wine is Dijon Clone 828 and comes from the upper block of Zena Crown which is next to Temperance Hill. Aged for 16 months in 50% new wood. Decanted 3 hours before dinner. More restrained than I expected. Earthy red fruit, light oak and medium bodied. I don't see the 94 points the WA gave this. 88 points.

It is certainly possible. I did not try this when I first pulled the cork so I can't say for sure. However, this is the top wine made by this estate and the recommended drinking window from "View from the Cellar" is 2019-2035 so based on that and the new wood used to age this I thought it would need a decant. I have 1 more but won't open it for a while.
