TN: 2010 Rhys Alpine Pinot Noir

Another baby killed. This one I regretted. About an hour in the decanter and it was still tasting tight. Aromas of boysenberry, black cherry, Earl Grey tea, and hoisin. Had a pleasant sappyness to it but it was all still very primary. Definitely needs a few years to start showing it's stuffing.

I would hold.

2010 Rhys Pinot Noir Alpine Vineyard - USA, California, San Francisco Bay, Santa Cruz Mountains (6/20/2018)[/i]

Opened by WineSparty. Ruby color. A light to medium bodied Pinot Noir (lighter than I expected). This was the first time I have had a wine from this producer. More of a feminine style and elegant. Silky tannins with notes of bing cherries, chalk and smoky plums. You can tell the grapes come from cooler hillside fruit based on the style. Some salinity on the finish. Excellent. 94 points.
