2008 J-M Seleque Champagne Partition Extra Brut - France, Champagne (9/16/2017)
This grower producer is located in the Coteaux Sud d’Epernay and owns 7.5 hectares. This is the top wine from this estate and 2008 was the first year this cuvee was made. Sourced from 8 vineyards (La Justice, Moque-bouteille, La Basses-Ronces, Les Frileux, Les Tartieres/Les Porgeons, Les Gayeres and Les Gouttes d'Or). Mostly Premier Cru. The vines range in age from 25 years to 67 years old.
72% Chardonnay, 14% Pinot Meunier and 14% Pinot Noir. 3g/ltr of sugar. Disgorged June 2014. Aged in oak barrels. First time I have had a wine from this grower and was impressed. Purchased on sale for $40 (normally $85). This was very nice. The oak was not overdone. Solid bead. Notes of chalk, toast, citrus and dough. Round and supple. No rush to open this. 94 points.
