- 2005 Zind-Humbrecht Pinot Gris - France, Alsace, Alsace AOC (2/6/2007)
Fresh of the boat, the glue is barely dry.
I'm not sure why but it has wax on top of the cork AND foil on top of that...
Indice 2
Light straw color, nose of lemongrass, spices and pears.
On the palate this is slightly bitter with notes of citrus, pears and a bit of caramel as the wine warms up in the glass. It picked up a mushroom flavor on day 2. Quite a long finish, lacks acidity though.
It reminded me of a flat beer if that makes sense...
Overall a good wine but for a few dollars more you can get Grands Crus PG from Albert Mann and for me they are worth the extra dollars. (89 pts.)
