  • 2005 Martinelli Zinfandel Giuseppe & Luisa - USA, California, Sonoma County, Russian River Valley (12/31/2007)
    As usual, an outrageously hedonistic zin that holds nothing back. Pushing the boundaries of fortified wine with its 16.9% alcohol, but a great wine to ring in the new year with. If this wine played football, it would be flagged for taunting. Probably would have went to the U of Miami. An excess success. (92 pts.)

Big Grin Big Grin Big Grin LOL! I love your description! I haven't tasted the '05, but previous vintages were consistent with this. Hard not to like, but after I had a few, the appeal seemed to fade. Nonetheless, thanks for the notes.
