One of my favorite Cabernet Francs from anywhere. Always good, frequently awesome. The 2005 is very young, but the tannins are so velvety, it's just awesome juice. I love tannins like this. Sure, they're mouth-drying... but their sexiness with loads of fruit, darker rich flavors, complexity, and a very long finish... mmm, mmm, mmm. Italian on the nose, but new world in style when you drink it. Very enjoyable without food. Just my speed. At least 93pts.

Best Paleo Rosso since... the 2004. Let me phrase it differently: Best Paleo Rosso I've had except mabye the 2004. I might have to pop a 2004 alongside the remains of this 2005 tonight to do a head-to-head.

Your note made me chuckle... I love Paleo Rosso as well, especially the 2004 and 2001 vintages.

I have only had one bottle of the 2005 and that was with a light lunch at Enoteca Tognoni on a visit to Bolgheri last June. At the time, I thought the 2005 was kind of disjointed and awkward. (I also had a glass of the 2007 Ornellaia and Sassicaia which may have influenced my palate.) But your comments make me want to give the 05 another try!
