5 vintages later... Will lighting strike twice?
Deep ruby red. Expressive cigar tobacco aromas, cherry syrup, fresh raspberry, and forest wood. Medium body, fresh, good acidity and pack with flavors. Everything is in balance, but I wish the concentration and texture could be up a notch. Medicinal cherry, blackberry, dried herb de Provence, iron, and wet stone. Finish with dusty tannin. This will keep well for years to come. If memory serve me right, this unmistakably shows the same terrior driven flavors as its older sibling (2000) but were surprisingly more rustic. 91+? points.
