2005 Chateau Ste. Michelle Riesling – Washington, Columbia Valley (2/7/2007)
This is Chateau Ste. Michelle’s most basic Riesling. Good clarity and very pale in color. Nose of green apples and some muted citrus. Green apples are predominant on the palate with a restrained sweetness. The acidity was definitely lacking. Short finish. This is very simple wine & not a bad quaffer. It would be OK with Thai or Szechuan but in this price category I prefer the Dr. Loosen Riesling QbA Dr. L. 12% alcohol.
