2003 Shadow Canyon Cellars Syrah - USA, California (9/13/2006)
A really enjoyable Syrah that is reasonably priced ($26). Aromatice nose mostly of black peper. Lots of pepper, black licorice and plum notes on the palate. Also, very well balanced with fruit that was not over the top and with mild tannins. May improve s a little, but not a wine you have to wait for as it is very drinkable now. Going to pick up a few more bottles as this is great with BBQ.

Thanks for the note Tom. Sounds like something I would like. If I see bacon fat or black pepper in a TN for shiraz/syrah it gets my attention.

If you like black pepper, you will really enjoy this syrah. One of the better QPRs I've found recently.
