Popped and poured. Very dark as is typical for this wine. Lovely dark fruit nose mixed with spices. Plum and some dark cherry with just a hint of sweet wood influence. Rich, although not as dense as in some previous vintages. 30+ second finish. Yum. (91 pts.)

A modern 100% sangiovese which still managed to not cross the line. Dark ruby core with purple rim. Aromatic with some cherry and dark fruis with light earthy notes wrapped with new oak with distinct coffee notes.
Med to full body, fresh acidity, with palate matching nose. Bold wine, lacks a little complexity and may need a little more time to fully digest the oak but still very enjoyable.

Dark ruby/black colour; opaque. Coats the glass - fat legs, probably 14.5% alcohol. Aromas of black plums, black licorice, alcohol, and hints of herbs. Full-bodied, lush, with plenty of dark fruit - black plums, black cherry, and blackcurrant. Plenty of acidity and firm tannins through to the 30s finish that shows more black fruit. Not as profound and the 2001, but I think this will age nicely. (91 pts.)

Dark ruby/black colour. Aromas of blackcurrant, mineral, bramble, and peach. Medium-full bodied, with replays from nose. Solid finish. Open, expressive, and tasty. Hopefully the peach (from oak) is absorbed with time. (91 pts.)
