2003 Penner-Ash Syrah - USA, Oregon (3/27/2007)

Zepplan opened a bottle of this at his home last Saturday when he had some of the CWM over. This was paired with the 4th course of roasted pork tenderloin with orzo (orzo, grape tomatoes, feta cheese cubes, fresh basil, parsley and a homemade balsamic vinaigrette). New world style. Dark purple color. Thick texture. Rich red and black fruit notes with a good amount of vanilla oak. Not overdone though. A concentrated wine with a long finish. Others might prefer this style more than I did. 89-90 points.
