My highlight wine of the weekend. And it come from a MAGNUM. Wow, my first Burgundy ever poured from a Mag.

Sweet and delicious. Lavender, ripe cherry, slight mineral and fresh mint. This is a very hearty wine with full body for Burgundy, sweet bit of cherry liquor flavor and clay tone. Very satisfying in month with long finish on sweet and soft tannin. Great inner mouth perfume and very carassing too. This wine show the vintage characteristic very well without getting overripe or excessive alcohol. There is no sacrifice in acidity here, and it got better glass after glass. 13% alcohol. Drink now - 2015. 91 points.

A friend of mine had my birthyear of this wine (1967) so we decided to open it a couple weeks ago. It probably saw less than stellar storage before he got it. The initial nose was very nice, but it fell apart within a few minutes and had volatile acidity. While it did not perform well, it is always a pleasure to try a birth year wine. Thanks for the note on the '03.
