Opened by Allred last weekend. Double decanted for about 9 hours. From the ripe 2003 vintage in Bordeaux. Served blind. Dark purple color. A peppery nose and earthy texture. Notes of tobacco, cassis and leather. Solid tannins with a rich full bodied finish. This was the 9th different vintage of the Mouton that I have had. The others being the 1981, 1983, 1986, 1988, 1989, 1993, 1996 and 1998. Of those only the 1983, 1988 and 1998 were superior. No rush to drink this wine. 94+ points.
