This is truly a unique Italian red from Puglia in southern Italy. A friend brought this for Thanksgiving dinner. This is a blend of 95% Negroamaro and 5% Malvasia nera.

This is a meaty wine with a tannic backbone without being harsh. It has a spicy middle core with beef bone and plum flavor. Not everyone will like this, but I did. All 7 of us at the table said it was different but good at the same time. I think the age on the wine helped it. Has anyone tried a recent release of this wine? I will seek out some of this wine. A wine to be enjoyed with food. 89pts.
