TN: 2002 Dutschke Shiraz Barossa St. Jakobi

One of the most traditionally styled Shirazes from Barossa I've come across. The big, complex currant nose suggests a Northern Rhone. Nicely woven oak, rich fruit, solid, vibrant midpalate. Tannins pack a wallop, it could really use time. 92 pts.

Had a bottle of this last night and it has really come around nicely. Vinturi plus an hour decant. The tannins have smoothed right out, the purity of the fruit is amazing and there's just the right amount of oak. Rich, balanced and delicious. 93+
