This is a $9 wine and the first I've ever had from Lapostolle. I know it makes some other nice wines, but this one isn't going to draw my attention to their lable in the future. Kind of a funky nose, more wood/straw than fruit. Really tight and unbalanced tannins in the mouth. The oakiness also overshadows everything else. Cassis and dark cherry is there, along with a bit of mint, but the tannins and oak just dominate.
For Chilean cabs in the $10-25 range, this was not a good showing. WS gave it an 84...I'd say an 80.
