2001 Cantina Zaccagnini Montepulciano d'Abruzzo Sallis Castrum San Clemente - Italy, Abruzzi, Montepulciano d'Abruzzo (7/1/2005)
This wine was poured at the WS Grand Tour in May. This wine was a real eye opener. Enoselsa and I tried 3 Montepulciano's in a row at the tasting and both felt this was the best of the lot. A blackish red color and clearly the most concentrated and bigest of the 3 wines. Notes of blackberry and minerals with a candylike sugar character. Full bodied with a long finish. 91+ points.

Vino Me,

Long been one of my favorite wines that few here in Texas know about.

For some reason, it has been hard to find after the '98 vintage here in Dallas. Frown

Always a winner in blind tasting's also.

Thanks for the note.
Either of you guys tried the 2000? It's on the shelves up here for CDN$47 and I've looked at it longingly a couple of times. A little encouragement and I would probably bring one home. Big Grin
steve,

Nope.

I have not seen this wine in our market for years Frown

I had well over a case of the '97 and had 6 of the '99 I bought online.

If you do try the '00, please let me know how it is showing.
