Had this last night with dinner, reminding me agan how much I wish I could afford Burgundy more often. Unfortunately I didn't write down any notes since we had company, but I'll do the best I can.

What I remember mostly was the nose -- incredibly fragrant with earthy-mushroominess and spice. Medium to full-bodied with a tannic bite at the end. Cherries and spice predominated. This could have sat for another few years easily.

This was really a nice wine, it had a lot of what I love about Burgundies. A bit rough at the end, but still deserving of a 90 in my book.

On a side note, we also had a bottle of 2001 Chappellet Mountain Cuvee. I won't do a separate note on it since something seemed off. Wouldn't necessarily say corked, maybe just a bad bottle.
