Had my first SV Kistler PN this weekend with my father and it was outstanding. By far the best PN I have had from the difficult 2000 vintage. This RR pinot is earthy, juicy and screaming of fresh cut flowers with enveloping cherry, and raspberry overtones from front to back palate. The nose on this wine upon opening at the restaurant surrounded the table. Other tables could smell it a few feet away. In hopes of avoiding corkage I gave a sip to the GM and at the end of the meal he came back and said TYVM. He said he sipped it over a 2 hour period and each sip was different. We talked about how we wish we could get this wine here in KY. For me, truly well made PN must have a lengthy finish to be considered an upper eschelon wine. This wine had that and then some. The tannin in this wine is well integrated with the earthy fruit. This wine had old and new world components throughout. This was bottle #255 of the roughly 950cases produced 95pts.
