2000 Jarvis Winery Cabernet Sauvignon Estate Grown Cave Fermented - USA, California, Napa Valley (9/5/2009)
Gorgeous leather and tobacco on the nose with some soil and dark jammy fruit, but mostly leather and earthy characteristics. The palate had some great dark fruit with great dry gripping tannin that seems really built for the long haul. Excellent balance. Worth opening now, but really will not hit it's stride for another 2 - 3 years. 94+ (94 pts.)

I have never been impressed with their wines for the money, but Jarvis is a very interesting winery to visit.
