TN: 2010 Beringer Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon Knights Valley

This bottle was a gift. Sourced from hillside vineyards in the Knights Valley. This Bordeaux blend was a crimson color. An earthy Cab. Notes of leather, black peppercorns and currants. This had a fine minerality. The tannins were in a good spot and the wine is still in it's drinking window. 89 points.

Strangely, friends had us over for dinner a couple of weeks ago. He had this very wine buried in his cellar that he didn't realize was there. We drank it with our steaks.

Very earthy with hints of peppers and getting toward the end of its window, but pleasant and easily quaffable with no decant required. VM's 88-89 pts is indeed about right.
