At first this was drinking much more forward than last time I had it, but seemed to shut down hard after an hour of being open. This had lovely aromatics and "Vosne" styled fruit to it. Notes of sappy Pinot fruit, mocha, baking spice, chocolate, dark cherry, sage, underbrush, sweet long hung game, ripe stem, mineral and wet earth. This had a wonderful ripe and elegant glycerin filled midsection, with a long potent finish. Still needs more time...as have many of the '99's I've tried in the past year. They seem to be going through the "mid life crisis" right now. This should end up being a great DRC Richebourg. But...the 2005 will give it a run for it's money! 95+ pts.
