Disclaimer: Despite loving some Italian wines and Tuscany, I've never been a big fan of traditional Chianti wine. Dunno why! I like other Sangiovese-based wine, like Brunellos.
This wine is brown on the rim and the fruit seems slightly diminished, but it is still a very good chianti. Tastes just like what it is... an aged chianti from a good vintage. The flavor seemed to improve as it warmed to room temperature. My wife, who likes Chiantis more than me, loved it and gave it 90 pts. I'd probably give it 88 or so.
If you like chiantis, you will enjoy this wine. I think it should be drunk soon, though.
