Beautiful scent of raspberry, cherry and blackberry. From the scent I thought this was going to be a 'fruit bomb'. Medium body, complex, with a taste of black cherry and raspberry followed by toasty, smokey oak and then the tannins kick in. Tannins are really firm and overtake the fruit. Light sour plum taste on the finish and somewhat hot. This is not a fruit bomb at all. 88 points but wish I would have drank this 6-12 months earlier as the tannins seem to be lasting longer than the fruit, which might be fading. If you don't like Zins that are fruit bombs, this is your wine.
