TN: 1996 Terra Valentine Cabernet Sauvignon Wurtele Vineyard

1996 was the first vintage that Terra Valentine bottled a separate Wurtele Cab. Picked from the highest section of the Wurtele vineyard on Spring Mountain. 100% Clone 7 Cabernet Sauvignon. Purchased for $30 at auction. This currently sells for $85. Soft cork but it came out in one piece. Very lightly sedimented. Burnt red color. Medium to full bodied. Notes of dried mushrooms, black currants and leather. Solid tannins. Drinking very well but wouldn't hold much longer. 93 points.
