TN: 1994 Château Meyney

Meyney was one of my "go to" QPR wines years ago. They had many fine wines from the 80's.

Not sure what is going on.

Agreed, w+a. The '90 was fantastic upon release. I still have one bottle left. I'm hoping it's still good.

The '90 Meyney I had a year ago was very good. I hope your bottle performs as good.

I still have some 1986, 1990, & 1995, and possibly one final bottle of 1985 & 1989. I don't know what happened at Meyney, but they had several down years thoughout the 90's, and I stopped buying! My last purchase was the 1995 vintage, and it was not as good as any Meyney from the 80's!

Sounds like an off bottle. I've had a couple of not so great bottles followed by spectaculars from 1986. Still have a couple in cellar plus a couple of mags from 2000 - wasn't supposed to be their best year ever but who cares?

Good to hear from you. I heard your 40th b-day party was one for the memory books. Unfortunately, grossie doesn't remember much of it!

Good to hear that you've had some good examples of this bottling. Gives me hope for my remaining singleton.
