TN: '00 Ch. Figeac

Was that the reserve that K&L has for about $28. I recently bought some Bordeaux's from them and I asked if it was drinking well now and she said "give it about 2-3 years" so I passed. Do you think 2-3 years is a good assesment?

I think you might have gotten another wine? This one is selling right now for $80-100. But, it does need another 2-3 years to start hitting it's prime, and should last another 10-20 no problem.

I saw the name Figeac and it was familiar so I assumed it was this one. I guess I forgot about the Bellerose.

You do have the wrong wine Spo. Figeac retails for 70-100 dollars.

It's not Yon Figeac, either.
The 1990 Figeac was a great wine, but it's falling apart. I suggest that the 2000 is also a 12-15 year wine.

Opaque color with purple rim. Process even more underbush aromas than the '00 Bellevue, strawberry, blackberry, green bellpepper and white pepper, and a strong sense of licorice. Everyone on the table agrees that this wine is made in a “classical” style. Flavors of sweet ripe red fruits and alcohol follows in the palate. Full body yet balance. Still quite tannic on the tongue today. Best from 2012 onward. 93 points.
