This weekend I will be eating dinner at a restaurant in a hotel in Las Vegas. I want to drop the wine off early for them to get to serving temperature. I'm also going to see if he'll decant it hours before our reservation time. Would you tip on handing off the bottle? How much? Or would you tip after the dinner? Or...?

I dropped off 6 bottles at a restaurant the night before the dinner to make sure they were stored at good temperature, decanted before hand etc. I thanked them for assisting me and gave the bartender either $10 or $20 (can't remember which) - with of course the knowledge that they'd be receiving a sizable tip the following evening.

Mr. Cabernet, what wine are you bringing to the restaurant? Have you been to any of our local offlines? Smile

2001 Valdicava Brunello di Montalcino. Obviously a little young, but I have multiple bottles--and I'm not getting younger.

No, I haven't had the opportunity to come to an offline. Perhaps I'll have to try harder.
