This is the best Bordeaux for the price I've had in my palty time as a wino! Unbelieveable.
Opened at cellar temperature and immediately showed big, toasty, cedar chest on the nose. In the background you also get whiffs of sweet tobacco and spice (baking I would say). The palate includes a spike of subtle merlot fruit, including the hints of bell/green "Merlot" pepper that defies specific fruit correlation for me. There's some earth (terroir) there with this overall mouthfilling medium bodied wine. The finish leaves a hint of velvety tannins and lingers pleasantly. Built for maybe 3-8 years of cellaring. Gets a 7 out of 10 in my book; that would roughly translate into a 91-93 on the WS scale. BEST PART: $42/bottle
And then it warmed up to room temp and had breathed for about an hour and showed a load of black cherry and red currant fruit that was wonderful.
