I know I said we should avoid political posts (which TOM, not unexpectedly, ignored

) but this little tidbit from Canada is too ironic to pass up.
The
Bloc Québécois is a federal political party in Canada whose sole reason for existence is to separate the province of Québéc from the rest of Canada. Members of the party, which was once a dominant force in Quebec, have dwindled from holding a high of 54 (of 308) seats in the House of Commons in the 90's to just 10 in the most recent election.
Yesterday, seven of those ten left the Bloc Québécois party and will now sit as independents. In the sweetest of ironic twists, the separators have separated, effectively killing the party.
