We’re invited to an Almost-End of Summer dinner tonight, Pinot Noir-themed.  I’m bringing

- Domaine Vacheron XVII Le Rosé, lots of Pinot character from the Loire

- 2002 Nicolas Potel Pommard 1er Cru Les Jarolieres, which was drinking very well a year ago so high hopes

But best part is that my dear wife made a beautiful pecan pie for dessert. Our host has a remarkable collection of old Madeira, many from early 20th C.  I’m pretty excited to see what he will open to pair with the pie (he usually opens more than one😊).8BB73647-C485-4453-B4C6-F7E15DE7F1621536B31B-8CD8-4641-A14D-8CFD2517DAC7

2015 Atwater Estate Dry Riesling Finger Lakes - never had anything decent from this winery other than this wine but it was really nice.

2017 Argyle pinot noir - a little stemmy tonight but still nice.

Nice memories regardless.

Happy anniversary week!

2017 Cune Crianza for us tonight.

Too bad because it seemed awesome underneath the taint. Luckily it was still in the SAQ's system so I got a credit.

2011 Stefania, Cabernet Sauvignon, Santa Cruz

Last bottle. So much lighter bodied than other vintages. Not necessarily a bad thing, just different.

How well does a LBV stand up to 40 years of aging?

It’s irrelevant whether or not it exists in the system. You can always get credit for a defective item.

‘’With or without a sales receipt, a product that can't be consumed due to a fabrication defect can be exchanged or reimbursed under certain conditions. The exchange or refund may take place in the store of your choice, even if the purchase was made in another point of sale in Quebec (store, SAQ agency or supermarket*). The bottle of a defective product must be at least three quarters full.’’
