We will be in Seattle for a couple of days and would love to meet up with any local forumites who are interested and available? I realize Sunday or Monday nights aren't the best, but that's the way the schedule shook out.

We'll be staying downtown but will be mobile if required. FWIW, there is a possibility a couple of well known (on these forums) Vancouverites will make the drive down too. Hopefully a gathering can be arranged.

I love Seattle. Go to Pike place market and enjoy fish being thrown around. I think there is a wine shop in that same complexe or vicinity.

Pike & Western. Other end of the Market from Pike Place Fish Market, but definitely worth the not so long walk! The best part of the market is walking it end to end.

Also inside DeLaurenti on the corner of Pike and 1st Ave. Excellent cheese shop there too.

+1 Cool

Forgot about DeLaurenti's wine selection. Pretty awesome stuff.
steve8 - Washington is VERY corkage friendly, generally speaking. One alternative thought: we could do an informal offline at Seattle Wine Storage (where I keep my wine). Bring in food / cook, open whatever we want with no corkage. I'd have to check with Chuck first and see about availability at SWS, but it's an option. Glasses are there, decanters, comfortable lounging. Note: it's not in a great neighborhood necessarily, FYI. You might very well prefer a restaurant, however, and I certainly understand that.
I'll have eaten at restaurants for a week by then so there will be no burning desire to eat at another. Whatever works best for everyone is fine by us.

That said I'm probably going to have to pick up some wine locally for this offline. The logistics of this trip would mean that wine I bring with us will be treated badly. Packed luggage with a 3.5 hour layover at O'Hare (no doubt on the tarmac) is one thing, but a day in the car in Oregon would be worse, especially since I understand the Northwest is in the midst of a heatwave. I'm sure I can find some good wine to buy, but it kinda sucks as bringing something from one's cellar to an offline is part of the fun.
