It will come down to the red states and their Senators if you all want the impeachment to work.

Impeachment does not have "to work." It is necessary even if it fails in the Senate. The house is simply doing its duty to call out obvious criminal and unconstitutional acts.

Here's a prediction:  By the time the investigations are done, not only will the House impeach, but the Senate will have no choice but to convict.  There is much more out there on these guys.  The career civil servants are starting to get their mojo working.  The dam is leaking. Whistles are being blown.  You read it here first.

And I have said for almost three horrible years that the craven Republicans will continue to put party before country and do whatever it takes to protect their bill-signer-in-chief.

You read it here second.

I’m still shaking my head at how the worst President in history can choose the worst Chief of Staff in history.  Key takeaways from the Mulvaney press conference yesterday, per Quora poster Mike Jones:

“Theres really one key one: Mulvaney thinks he can say anything he wants, then directly contradict it in a written statement an hour or two later, and get away with it.

Beyond that, he called the legitimacy of the Barr/Dunham investigation into the genesis of the Mueller investigation into question by saying that Trump asked Ukraine for help with it (a claim that has been denied by the DOJ).

He admitted that the President used taxpayer funds to attempt to influence the behavior of a foreign country for political advantage.

Oh, and he thinks we’re all complete idiots because no one else would believe his transparent lie about how the Trump Doral resort was chosen for next year’s G-7 meeting.

I will not be surprised in the least if the transcript of this press conference is entered as evidence in the Senate impeachment trial of Trump.”

How many days does Mulvaney have left in the WH?   Maybe he can caddy at Doral

He made it clear, you need to get over the most corrupt undemocratic presidency in US history. OK?

Not always a Maddow fan, but I found this tweet from her to be a pretty damning summary of Pence's "deal" with Erdogan:

(1) turkey wants to push the kurds out of that part of syria. (2) trump gives ‘em the OK to invade. (3) pence brokers a “deal” in which the kurds... must get out of that part of syria. (4) the US agrees to un-sanction turkey. that’s a “deal” like being mugged is a deal.

"Lady Gaga says she’s fine after she and fan fall off stage in Vegas. Several attendees caught the incident on video, which sees Gaga wrapping her legs around a concertgoer she had invited up on the stage, hopping up and down repeatedly before he loses his balance and takes a tumble, bringing Gaga down with him."

Poor Ella Fitzgerald all she had was a perfect voice. Think of how far she could have gone if she had pretended to be fucking a fan on stage.

OK Bman I have to ask. You regularly post on this thread with respect to US politics, but on a recent rare topic on T&E concerning our former PM you were nowhere to be found. WTF?

It never occurred to me that anyone here would be posting about Canadian politics, much less in that forum.  Just read the thread and find it very interesting.  I'll likely post something there but want to think about it and too busy at the moment in any case (my Saturday papers aren't gonna read themselves!)

Bman also needs to spend more time thinking about his fantasy football lineup before it becomes a lost season.  😳

I'm already thinking too much about my ff lineup, especially this week with half my team on a bye or injured!  It's keeping me awake at night!

Well, well. Since the Orange Dump exposed his true nature to the world both as a candidate and then as the TV reality president, net operating income at his prized Doral Resort is down 69%. Yep, that is 69%.😂🤣

The Dumps thinking, let’s hold the G7 at Doral, and if you don’t like, just get over it. I’m also confident he is writing a personal invitation to his hero, Putin. If he isn’t, Putin will direct his faithful poodle to do so. 🙈

DC observers are saying that the due to the WH "activity" of the past couple weeks, the needle is starting to move on the Senate Republicans willingness to vote for impeachment. #MoscowMitch has gone from saying, "No way are we going to let this happen", to now informing the Senate that they can look forward to at least 6 weeks of trial, most likely during the holidays. It remains to be seen if they get can get 20 Republican senators to vote yes.

I think that next week might be fun (or not so fun) depending on your perspective on things.  There are a lot of pieces moving now, with many more to come.  The naked emperor will continue to be called out.

If you are not letting your elected representatives know in the House and Senate that you support impeachment, you are complicit in the Clown’s disregard of the Constitution.

So true.  Complacency was a big factor in the clown's election.  Speak up people.

Smiling is good.  That said, I'm hoping that the Yanks win tonight, and that game 7 goes into the 285th inning.  Don't care who we face (although I think we match up a bit better against NY), but I want whoever we face to be butt-tired and jet-lagged.

PM?  Can't find the link.

I'd just share the post here but then I'd be banned!

I know we're all (almost all) having a jolly old time with the latest foibles of the bigot in chief. But I have to throw a little cold water in here. First, as I've said many times before: The craven Republicans will continue to be party before country and do everything to protect their bill-signer in chief.

Second, there's a whole heap of stupidity among the American electorate.

I would add the democrats must elect a person that can compete/ carry many states in the rust belt. Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin, Ohio plus purple states like Virginia, Florida, Colorado and New Mexico and others will not support too left candidates or socialists platform candidates.
