“I guess … because Putin outsmarted him, President Obama thought it wasn’t a good thing to have Russia in.”    https://politi.co/2Hv7uI7

Putin’s Bitch never fails to say something nice about his master........:rolleyes

It’d be funny if it weren’t so blatantly treasonous for the POTUS to denigrate his American predecessor and praise an enemy of the United States IN THE SAME SENTENCE!!!

It’s depressing, infuriating, and scary. Trump needs to go. Everything in the Democratic primary needs to be focused on Trump. Until Trump is gone, I don’t care about small policy differences among Democrats or whatever niche wokeness issue other Dems think is important. Trump is a danger to the republic and needs to go. Then we can have the other fights.

“President Trump Cancels Trip To Denmark After Greenland Spat.”

‘President Trump cancels trip to Denmark because they won’t sell him Greenland.’

C’mon guys.

I don’t know if the scariest part about the Trump presidency is the percentage of the U.S. that genuinely has yet to figure out that he suffers from serious mental/emotional problems or the percentage that recognizes it bit doesn’t care so long as their issues (tax cuts, keeping Latinos out of the country, Conservative judges, etc) rule temporary policy.

He said yesterday that Jewish americans would be disloyal if they did not vote for him.  What about Latinos, Asians, Catholics, plumbers, doctors, and teachers.  Would they be? Or, are they able to choose intelligently, without fear of being accused of treason.
One thing, and maybe the only thing, that El Presidente Trump is good at is that he is the master of the insult.

He said, in his talk wherein he canceled the state visit to Denmark, an invitation from that country's monarch and government, that Denmark is a great ally of ours.  That's true.  So, what is the point of insulting them by canceling the trip after you accept the invitation?

The tariffs, say the experts, will cost the average American about $1000. (Does that mean China is paying?)  Thus, El Presidente is considering lowering the payroll tax to replace this money in the average person's bank account, thus adding to the already grossly overbloated federal deficit, which he promised to lower.

Wharton should revoke his degree.

And you think the will leave if he loses? Remember this is a guy who said he'd only accept the 2016 election results if he won. He already has a stacked Supreme Court after McConnell stole the seat from Obama. Declare a national emergency (immigrant invasion or some other lie) and cancel the elections or the transfer of power after the election.  I'd say I'm deluded by paranoia except he's clearly our first president who doesn't understand, or believe in, democracy.

Oh My God...you are mental.

If Trump runs, and I think there is an outside chance he'll withdraw---but if he runs and he loses, he'll protest and say that the election was stolen by the media, or whomever else is in his sights at the time. If the electoral vote is lopsided it will be much better than if it is a squeaker.  He'll not go quietly in the night.  Gracious, he is not.

So which is it? Are you "done on this topic" or not? He's the only president who ever said he'd only accept the election results if he won. What do you think the man/baby will do if he loses? But don't answer because you're "done with this topic."

On behalf of the rest of the world, let me say that we thoughtful non-Americans feel the same way!  Hard to decide whether to be more amused, terrified or angry.  Often we are all three!

I’m done...but I will wager with you a $100 bottle of wine should Trump not win ( cannot see how to this crowd on the Democratic side) that he will exit gracefully.  I’lll ship to you, if he does not win and and does any of what you said above .  You will ship to me should he not win and accept the results.

If he wins...we’ll hell...that’s enough for me.

Even though your views make me sick that's a very gentlemanly offer. However, you make it too easy for me. I said he "wouldn't leave" and you're saying "exit gracefully." Now even you must know that he never does anything gracefully. So thanks for the offer but I don't want to take your easy money bet.

I'm done too.

OK...respectfully accept the declination.  Best to be done on the subject as well. Point though...you really don't know my views.  You are just projecting what you think they are since I voted for Trump.

With that...will try to ignore the political fray.

Cheers.

Napa, I was done, but why did you have to put in the part about not knowing your views? I DO NOT know your views. I only know that you are a staunch defender of a racist, bigot, sexist, mocker of the disabled and the captured soldiers, a man who now claims he's "The chosen" one and loves the tweet that called him the "King of Israel" (I'm not sure if he's supposed to be Christ or the Messiah, but it should be offensive to people of all faiths), a remover of children from their parents who is now saying they children can be held "indefinitely") a cheating golfer who has played more than 240 days (a lot more than  Obama, big surprise), the biggest liar ever to occupy the WH, a draft dodger, an unindicted defendant in multiple acts of obstruction of justice, a lover of dictators and demagogues, a demagogue and a one lousy businessman.

But yeah I'm just projecting what you think.

Sitting on my deck last night listening to music and drinking some lovely Chardonnay, it occurred to me that this interaction between napacat and The Old Man is essentially the song Dialogue Part 1 by Chicago.  It may have been the wine, but the realization really made me chuckle.  Carry on being done with each other...

Seriously, that is the extent of his depth on this subject matter.

In the news from the G7:

""The question I was asked most today by fellow World Leaders, who think the USA is doing so well and is stronger than ever before, happens to be, “Mr. President, why does the American media hate your Country so much? Why are they rooting for it to fail?”

Yes, I'm sure THAT's what they asked him most today.....

Guess we need to go to the Old English Dictionary [what ever the correct name is].  Should be able to find another adjective.

It's the Oxford English Dictionary, flwino.  And forget adjectives, there are plenty of nouns.  I ran across these Old English insults recently.  Although I am really trying to decrease the mental bandwidth I devote to the squatter in the White House, I found these to be particularly accurate and entertaining!

ABYDOCOMIST

Abydos was a city in Ancient Egypt whose inhabitants, according to one 19th century dictionary, “were famous for inventing slanders and boasting of them.” Whether that’s true or not, the name Abydos is the origin of abydocomist—a liar who brags about their lies.

BEDSWERVER

An adulterer. Another of Shakespeare’s inventions that became popular in Victorian slang.

CUMBERWORLD

Also called a cumberground—someone who is so useless, they just serve to take up space.

FOPDOODLE

An insignificant or foolish man.

GILLIE-WET-FOOT

An old Scots word for a swindling businessman, or someone who gets into debt and then flees.

KLAZOMANIAC

Someone who only seems able to speak by shouting.

QUISBY

In Victorian English, doing quisby meant shirking from work or lazing around. A quisby was someone who did just that.

RAKEFIRE

A visitor who outstays his or her welcome. Originally, someone who stays so late the dying coals in the fireplace would need to be raked over just to keep it burning.

SCOBBERLOTCHER

Probably derived from scopperloit, an old English dialect word for a vacation or a break from work, a scobberlotcher is someone who never works hard.

SKELPIE-LIMMER

A badly-behaved child. Coined by the Scottish poet Robert Burns from the old Scots word skelpie, meaning “misbehaving” or “deserving punishment.”

SNOUTBAND

Someone who constantly interrupts a conversation, typically only to contradict or correct someone else.

TALLOWCATCH

Another of Shakespeare’s inventions directed at the gross, womanizing knight Falstaff in Henry IV, Part 1. It’s probably derived from “tallow ketch,” literally “a barrel of fat.

WANDOUGHT

A weak and ineffectual man. (Wandoughty is an old word for impotence. Say no more.)

Amazing how the Old English seemed to have anticipated our dear leader.  Credits to Mental Floss for the material!

Trump says he got a call from China about resuming trade talks and the stock market reacts positively.  But, today’s headline is: https://finance.yahoo.com/news...brief-101344222.html
China says there was no phone call.

It is remarkable that the market reacts to what Trump says.  What he says is erratic, false and misleading.  He was in favor of background checks for purchasers of weapons, then opposed, then in favor, all within about 7 days.  He was in favor of reducing the payroll tax to stimulate the economy and then says he changed his mind.
He is a policy peripatetic.  Put another way, he changes sides more often than windshield wipers in a Florida downpour.
