Let's be very clear

The question was

"President Putin, did you want President Tump to win the election, and did you direct any of your officials to help him do that?"

Putin - "Yes, I did, Yes, I did. Because he talked about bringing the US-Russia relationship back to normal."

and no, Putin has very clear grasp of the English language.

I can't help you honestly, I give you video proof of the question and what Putin says in direct response to you saying "show me evidence of collusion".  Also pointed out the whitehouse transcript which still hasn't been corrected.

Whats the new motto?  Don't believe what you see, unless Trump feeds it to you?

And your last question, "Does Trump want the extinction of a particular group?"  Yes. it's called Free press.  Let's not forget even legal immigrants are being targeted.

Fair enough... I see your point.   I just don’t have the same hysterical perspective.  I mean he had two to chose from and he chose properly!  I personally think the overly negative press is going to bounce back and not work in the left’s favor.  It’s too much... 92% or more negative%.

You could take a story from today and say the administration has succeeded in reuniting 1600 families (not sure of the exact number)...instead it reads admin fails to reunite 700 before the deadline.

Things are going well.  Economy is great.  Getting federal judges appointed and potentially a minimum of two SC justices.  So far so good.  Much better off than where we would be under a HC admin!

I do, because I happen to be American and I don't like Russia destabilizing our fundamental rights as Americans.  You know, Country before party?

Also, you could take the story today to say instead of reuniting 1600 families to 2300 families unnecessarily separated that we had to go and fix it and still have 700 children without their parents.

As w the economy., look it's my business to study economic numbers, let me throw you out some numbers.

https://www.forbes.com/sites/b...s-weak/#12195be280e0

Forbes is hardly what one would call a "liberal" publication.

But just look at the graph.  The real GDP growth has yet to top what it was in 2015 and still below what is a terrific 2014 where real gdp growth was at 5.2%

Non farm payrolls growth is still 20% below what it was in 2014

Real wage growth was 1.3% in 2014.  It started up in 2017 but has been trending downwards and even started going negative end of 2017 to finally return back to 0% real wage growth.  That means in all of Trumps terms, there has been stagnant real wage growth for all workers.  Not exactly a raving review.

Lets take after tax income, 2014, the average real disposable income was 5.3%.  It's only 1.9% in the past year and a half.

But what about the stock market you say?  It would have been better during obama's second term, well until trump started doing some dumb tweeting and knocked it down to match the growth seen during 2014-2015.

Regardless, I'm of the boat it's stupid to talk about economic policy with folks who don't understand what acutally goes into it.  It's a bad talking point where people just like to throw out numbers and has no idea what it means.  Do you know waht the difference between 5.2% real gdp vs 4.1% gdp looks like?

But you know what you can tangibly understand?  Blowing a 1.5 trillion dollar hole in teh deficit when times are good.  You're suppose to save when times are good, not blow out your savings.  And now trump is telling the Fed they need to keep rates low so credit is easier??? you know there's a popular phrase when I was starting work.  I believe it was called "irrational exuberance".  And now they want to talk about a second round of tax cuts?  Then we're giving away free aid money to people affected by the tariffs?

i'm glad you're happy where you are because I'm certianly not.  This fiscal conservative voter has been through 3 different market crashes and has seen his personal portfolio dip to almost 0 twice.  I can't wait till they get everyone on this individual retirement savings plan, let's get the other 50% of americans who don't understand how to properly invest into the market!

I will certainly agree with you regarding the deficit, not something I can get on board with when Republicans specifically ran against it.  That is not addressing a problem that needs immediate attention.

Back to the original question...if Putin so strongly denied meddling to Trump (we know he did), would he actually come out and say he ordered it at the press conference immediately after the meeting?

What makes us think that Putin denied the meddling to Trump IN PRIVATE WITH NO WITNESSES?  Who's to say they didn't chuckle over their collusion in private while sharing a glass of vodka?  Your blind faith in a PROVEN liar is remarkable.

And sure, some people are doing well financially under Trump (I happen to be one of them), but the overall integrity and moral fiber of our country has been shot to hell.  Racists, Homophobes, and Misogynists have felt empowered under Trump, and while we now have a better idea of these peoples true feelings, it is shattering our country.  The US is a joke on the world stage, our Allies are up in arms as we push them away, and our enemies giggle as they listen to Trump lack any reasonable, stable plan for our country.

Like PH said, best to disengage moving forward.

Reading my buddy from Miami notes is enough to makes me sick.  92% false?  How is that determined?  700 kids without hope to see their parents again?  This is REAL news,  the happenstance that they got 1700 right is dumb a$$ luck.

He should change his name to "trumpcat"

Great stats from Forbes.  Thanks for the link

Keep thinking you have everyone figured out.  Why they voted for Trump (Racist, uneducated, fear immigrants, homophobes...whatever).  All wrong.  You have no idea what I listen to for news.

How can you not be open to another point of view?  Nothing is personal...just general discussion...and would probably like most of you over a great bottle of wine.

I'm always open to another point of view, which is why I enjoy this thread and engaging with people who disagree with me on Facebook, provided of course they don't post racist nonsense on my wall! ;-)

However, if you really disagree that the US is a joke on the world stage or your allies are abandoning you while your enemies are laughing at you, then you really really REALLY need to check out non-American news sources, pretty much any from Europe or Canada. You say we don't know what you listen to for news which is true of course, but I can only guess that it is only American sources and when you say "listen to" it seems you are not reading any news.  If you WERE checking out non-American news sources you would know that Trump has made himself and so his country a laughingstock around the world.  Here in Canada, for example, we only stop laughing when we shiver a little at his latest threat to a sensible world order.

However, now that Cohen is turning against him and his CFO has been subpoenaed, and the Democrats lead in the generic poll and the gap between those who don't and do favour Trump continue to grow, I'm confident that the Dems will take back the House in November which should blunt some of Trump's worst excesses.  Not that he won't continue to say and do terrible things and continue to give the world reasons to laugh at him, of course, but we can then rest a little easier perhaps that Congress will grow a spine and stop him from doing his worst.

"None of you know what was said behind closed doors."

"…if Putin so strongly denied meddling to Trump (we know he did), would he actually come out and say he ordered it at the press conference immediately after the meeting?"

So, this is pretty obvious

1.  Trump is lying.  Not a very far stretch of the imagination since he's consistently lied throughout his life

2.  Putin doesnt care about what Americans think and can outright just tell you he's meddling in our country because Trump doesnt care about Americans either.

So GDP out today, 4.1% against a predicted backdrop of 4.2%.  Underachieving as noted that the Market is pretty much going down right now.  Also note an extra 2% quarter on quarter inflation on personal consumption expenditures.  A little lower than forecasted but you know what that still shows that the Fed is right to be concerned about having a massive stimulus when times are good, that just from 3 months ago, inflation has shot up 2%.  Can't wait till I lament to my kids that my 3 pack of socks used to only cost me 8$.

Additionally, most economic growth in Q2 is attributed to the irrational tax cut and foreign markets buying up goods before tariffs take effect.  If Q3 is not significantly down, I'll chug a bottle of retsina and post it for your entertainment.

haha i'll take you on that bet =) consumer confidence is still riding  decently high.  forecasts are all pointing that 1Q 2019 is most likely when the party is over, unless the republican blow another trillion dollars in the deficit.  Which of course, sets up the inevitable "See told you we weren't at fault for the recession" few years afterwards

I watch CNN, MSNBC, BBC And Fox.  Read the WSJ and our local rag the Mami Herald.  Th generic poll had Clinton winning big.  I don’t see the Dems taking the house or the senate.  This is change... and long overdue!  The Obama admin was a complete embarrassment!  Now that is incompetency.

A community organizer who never had a real job!  “ You didn’t build that”.  “This is the new norm... no growth”.  Well we were tired of that. America is better than anything Obama ever did or said.

But inclusivity of the world is our goal.  In a fair and just manner.  Stick with it... gong to work out.  Bye to all f the former “experts”.

I thought we were talking about whether or not Trump is a joke on the world stage, not Obama.  The latter is no longer President so it doesn't matter today what the world thinks of him though since you raised it, if you really think the world thought Obama was an embarrassment and Trump is not, then I cannot accept your claim that you watch BBC or watch or read any other news source that is not American.  Believe me, there is a global consensus that Trump is an odious clown who is destroying America's global leadership.

All empires eventually fade then fail, and he is speeding that process for America. Which saddens me, as someone who has lived in the US and loves the country and its people.

And BTW, Obama was a practising lawyer and law professor for 12 years - how is that not a real job?  It's tough to take your points seriously when you purposely misrepresent the facts.  Sometimes you seem to want to be taken seriously while others you are just trolling, as above. If we're going to have a proper debate, please be truthful.  If you're not interested in a constructive debate, please say so.

As for the midterms, you are right that the polls got it wrong in 2016 and perhaps will again this year but the governing party almost always loses big in the midterms.  Time will tell!

Fun story I'd like to share.  So working Asian hours I have a messed up schedule so I usually go drinking late night

End up at a bar and it's kind of a dive.  Ie 5$ shots and 30$ a heavy night of drinking tab.  So it was dollar shots and I bought for the whole bar.  Guy next to me was asked me if I was American.  Haha fucken NY.

This other guy walks in and says he wants Budweiser, bartender says they don't have bud but they have a Brooklyn lager that's similar, tries it and says no too strong and they want American, so I tell him he wants a hefeweizen from Wisconsin.  It's actually the Belgium beer and he proudly proclaims this is what American beer should taste like.   Sigh...

B, our village idiot has no interest in facts, truth, critical thinking and never wants to drill down into any subject matter. It’s just too hard for him and each time, each time he is confronted with facts he changes the topic ( see above as you pointed out) and falls back on his BS. It is Obama’s fault, or Hillary ‘s fault, or the media is biased.

Does this remind you of anyone that gets orange spray tans, has his hair backcombed daily before using a can a day of hairspray and is a pathological liar?

PH

That entire absurd and laughable show by Trump yesterday was nothing more than trying to take the spotlight off of him and his dreadful week of bad news.

This president has zero interest in facts ( see our village idiot) and is desperate to change the narrative. Trump’s chest pounding yesterday was funny, really. The quarter as gman pointed out didn’t meet projections and Wall Street reacted negatively. Trump’s prideful quarter would be the 14th best under Reagan, 13th best under Clinton, 5th best under Obama and 5th best under Bush. This and all coupled with adding $1T in debt thus far.

Color me unimpressed.

I mean, I've got a decently sized portfolio, but adjusting the cost basis for inflation??

https://www.reuters.com/articl...-times-idUSKBN1KK2GL

lol talk about something that really benefits no one except the .001% of folks like warren buffet or <insert anyone who built billions in fortunes from holding portfolios from a long time ago>

and yep,. let's think about blowing another 100 billion dollar hole in the budget.

It's funny, but the kernel of the story that I took away from this is that it took 20 years before your housekeeper encountered an almost depleted TP roll before she could rehang a new roll in an unconscionably wrong orientation. My mind reels over the possible range of explanations!

If they are indeed the remains of American soldiers then yes, of course that is a great thing for the families concerned and others.  No doubt about it.  But the forensic testing has not yet begun and in the past North Korea has sent supposed American remains which turned out to be not American or even human.

And of course that has nothing to do with North Korea's on-going development of their nuclear capability, as reported by several sources yesterday, despite their promise to stop it.  I believe that someone claimed to have eliminated the North Korean nuclear threat but he clearly hasn't - only an idiot would believe that he had!

Agree that if these are indeed the remains of American troops that this is positive.  I have to point out that the last 3 generations of Kims have been holding untold numbers of US remains as bargaining chips for decades.  There are 7,600 service members whose remains are still unrecovered, of which over 1,000 were lost in the DMZ.  55 caskets of, as yet to be determined remains, can hardly be seen as a magnanimous gesture by NK.

Agree with above two post assuming remains are of our men and women. NK has returned remains in the past that were not our fallen.

Also, several news sources reporting today NK once again building new missiles. Have yet to see a tweet on this news.
