I hate arbitrary demarcations. Instead of the postal code, voting region etc. going down the main street in the area (which physically and really is the change between two neighborhoods) it goes down down the tiny street one street east. And puts me technically 40 feet into a neighborhood that isn't like mine and stretches a few miles west.

And makes my car insurance $400/year more expensive than if I was 40 feet further east.

Zero dockus mucho crockus halabaloo zabub,
That's the secret password that we use down at the club.

I loved Stan Boreson when I was a kid! Might be my earliest TV memory.

Our local taxi licensing board decided to implement flat fees into town about a year ago for pickups at the airport. We pay an extra $4 to be brought to our door rather than be dropped off on the street just south of ours. With a bunch of luggage-- and with Vancouver's increasingly frequent rain-- of course we want to be brought as close to our front door as possible, and certainly 4 bucks doesn't change my life at all. But that arbitrary line drawn on the city map just annoys the hell out of me.

Why hasn't the value of an opinion increased from two cents? What about inflation??

The Fed met and lower the rate

He's still around. Lives in Edmonds with his wife. Last I heard, they were still organizing tours to Scandinavia.

Wow! I'm surprised that he's still active. When I was a little kid he seemed to be a lot older than I was, though I guess almost every adult looks old to a little kid.

I just checked Wikipedia; he was born 1925!
