I thought he moved from South Africa to Canada as a teenager.
Good for him, I suppose, for having citizenship in three countries (and presumably holds 3 passports). My wife tried to keep both her Taiwan and Japan passports when she obtained US citizenship, but was forced to give up one of them.

I believe he came to Canada to go to university. His mother is Canadian.

Is there an explicit prohibition on holding 3 passports? Or was there some other de facto reason?
I liked Musk even more when he told Newsom and CA to stick it about opening up his Fremont plant. He basically told them he'd move his plant to NV or TX if he couldn't open up, despite Covid-19 measures enacted to prohibit him. Newsom and the state quickly backed down.

Look a little harder. Lots of comments over the past few days.

Do try and keep up.
So sad to see Nancy Silverton's Mozza 2 Go get torched. It was being used as a food outlet for out of work restaurant crews. I just find it hard to believe how poor the response in LA was yesterday. I'd have thought they learned something from 1992.
Although I get the anger, I just don't get some of the indiscriminate destruction that most often benefit the community.

At least 50% of the people doing the rioting (perhaps 5% of all the people on the streets) I'm guessing, are people simply looting and having fun destroying things. They have absolutely no interest in the issues. The protests act as their cover.
(Re-edited for clarity.)

I don't think it's 50% or even close. There are thousands of protesters but no indication there are thousands of looters or violent protesters. If you've got evidence that it's as high as 50% please share.

yea i'd be shocked if it was high as 50% .
This is probably more the msm just focusing on the looting aspects. Some of these crowds that are peacefully p rotesting, ie in NYC are pretty enormous.
this is NYC. no looting

I wasn't saying it was 50% of the protesters. I was saying it was the percent of rioters who have no interest in protesting at all. I'm guessing around 5% of the crowd consists of people who are there solely for destructive purposes.
La Mesa, CA looting. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JiYKaabLXOY
Isn’t always the case that there will be a few rotten people to mess up things for the rest of the group?
Just a disgusting display across the country...when 99% of us agree the killing was wrong and certainly murder. Time to show some real force and end this.

And to napacat, you have shown some incredible stupidity these past few months.
It's called the second amendment. This protest is literally engrained in our constitution.

The looting has gotten to the point where the mayors and governors of these states have got to grow some balls and put some real teeth into stopping it. Our mayor in Sacramento promised things would be different last night after rampant looting on Sat. Nothiing changed as more businesses (liquor stores, jewelry stores, Macy's, and many others were trashed.) Almost makes me wonder if these officials are protecting their constituents who are doing this damage in the memory of George Floyd.
Also, if you are protesting peacefully, but see looting and do nothing to stop it, you are complicit.

Yup. Kinda like the other cops who stand by or look the other way when their colleague is doing something wrong.
@arsenal4ever posted:Also, if you are protesting peacefully, but see looting and do nothing to stop it, you are complicit.
Yes, you need to get into a fight with them and ignore your own safety. Huh?
Exactly. They are all complicit. But right now, in cities everywhere, cops aren't the problem. What you and I see happening is criminal behavior in the name of George Lloyd. I marched Thursday and Friday nights in Sacramento in support of him and others and to stop police actions like his murder. The crowd around me was mostly peaceful; then turned violent when night fell. I won't march again, but I hope you will.

Serious question, what did you do when things turned violent? Other than calling the police, I can't imagine anything a civilian could or should do when this happens.

I’m speculating by definition provided by Arsenal, Arsenal was complicit.
TOM - I left before the rioting started. You could see it building up. But I'm sure you were out there too protecting your 1st and 2nd amendment rights, or were you sitting smugly in front of your TV and cheering the rioters on?

Kind of an interesting box he put himself into there.

I have written about the sadness I am experiencing seeing the rioting. And you suggest I cheer them on? Go fuck yourself. You make the idiotic statement that the protesters are supposed to get into fights with looters and this is the best way you think you can get out of what you said?
GO FUCK yourself TOM. And become part of the solution instead of the problem. I marched in support; did you?
@arsenal4ever posted:GO FUCK yourself TOM. And become part of the solution instead of the problem. I marched in support; did you?
That's the best you got? Could you please explain how I am a part of the problem? I hope you're not saying that one has to go out and protest or they're part of a problem. You can't be that stupid can you?
BTW, I only used the expletive when you made scurrilous suggestion that I support the rioters. What's your excuse?
