Bravo to my VA neighbors.  High voter turnout had a lot to do with the state going blue in both houses to supplement the Democratic governor.  A good lesson as we head into 2020.

As did the Courts' throwing out of the Republican racial gerrymandering to disenfranchise minority voters

Northam, Fairfax, and Herring,

All flawed.  Absolutely no argument.  But,  they're actually showing up to work every day and are all subject to legal and/or civil action if they've broken laws or committed torts.

So if you really want to play, "What about" , let's try:

Trump, McConnell and Graham.

I wonder who will come out better in the history books.

Looking forward to public hearings next week.  Cheers!

The reason why I mentioned Northam and his two buddies is to remind you that 6 months ago they were hot news and all were asked to resign by Dems because of blackface or sex assault issues. Evidently the voters had forgotten when they turned over the VA house to more Dems, as had the national media. Their stories died very quickly. 'Course, now they are qualified to be the next justice of SCOTUS.

What they did is certainly wrong, but that's the best you've got? Here's what I have: A president who tried to blackmail a foreign country into helping him win an America election. As for the next justice, do you have a citation for that or are you, like the demented president, just making things up?

They did not forget. They are hypocrites and the media that goes along with them.  Think a Republican could survive a blackface scandal?  Think the media would let it go at all.  And a flat out rape by the Lt Gov...not likely.

Good luck with this warped bunch around here Arsenal.  You, trying to inject a modicum of common sense will be lost here.

Well, a Republican survived

-sexual assault accusations by over a dozen women

-a secret payoff to a porn star who he boinked while his wife was pregnant with his child

-another secret payoff to a former Playboy Playmate with whom he had a long-standing affair

-incitement to violence at several political rallies

-boasting about grabbing women by their genitals and forcing kisses on them

-not paying contractors

-going bankrupt more than once

-lying an average of a dozen times a day over the past three years

-subverting the constitution for his personal benefit

Don't recall that guy's name though - can anyone remind me?

But, but Hillary.

That's not well played at all.  It is avoiding the double standard.  The media would have credibility if they were consistent.  If they only go after Republicans and not their counterpart for the same behavior, then that is incredibly hypocritical.

Listen tot he tape of Amy Robach...she had Clinton and Prince Andrew mailed in the Epstein scandal (most likely) and ABC squashed it.  The media is a bunch of clowns just like the Democrats in Washington...and it is becoming quite apparent.

I never said Trump was perfect (he is a complete narcissist, makes some cringe worthy statements at times (and some damn funny ones as well) ...compared to the Democratic candidate in 16, I would vote form Trump ten out of ten times. And with the current bunch of democrats, I'm voting for him again.  I don't think I could ever vote for a democrat, as I just do not believe in their ideology.

Seems like Bill Gates, Jamie Dimon and others have sounded the warning on Pocahontas.

"I never said Trump was perfect..."

It is any surprise that such a terrible debater as yourself would throw out a strawman argument? Nope, he's not perfect, nobody is, but he is a racist, a bigot and a sexist.

"...have sounded the warning on Pocahontas."

Did you think before gleefully typing this? It is any surprise that a person who supports a bigot stoops to using a bigoted slur? I've said that if you support a bigot and a racist then you are too, and then you go and prove my point.

I thought you weren't going to respond to me anymore? I, and most everyone else here, runs circles around your muddled thinking. As I've said before, you just keep embarrassing yourself.

Can't help it...that' right old man...just avoid the entire context of the post and call someone a racist, bigot...whatever.  It's all the left does is try and portray a republican as a racist.  Iy's tired and old.

Avoid the real context of the candidate promoting herself as a minority and the real "scandal" is someone giving her a very funny nickname (and it is very funny).

Avoid the entire ABC shelving of the Epstein story.  Avoid it all and keep calling us racists.  Bravo...you will still be here complaining during the next Trump term.  And possibly one more after that!!

The "point of your post." Pathetic. Not really hard to call someone a bigot and racist who says, "Mexico is not sending their best (whatever that means) they're sending murderers, drug dealers, rapists and some I'm sure are good people." "Where's my African-American?" "Some fine people on both sides." Someone who says the Central Park Five are still guilty after they were exonerated. And someone who went on a quest for the first black American president's birth certificate. I don't have time to list another 10 to 20 examples.

"Avoid the real context of the candidate promoting herself as a minority and the real 'scandal' is someone giving her a very funny nickname (and it is very funny)."

Well, that kind of says it all, thanks for the proof of your bigotry again. It is not acceptable to call Native Americans, or even people with minuscule amounts of Native American blood, "Pocahontas." Didn't your mother teach you anything?

Terrible debater, muddled  thinker and a self-confessed bigot. Do your friends find you intelligent or do they laugh behind your back?

You may want to slow down with all of the Epstein talk, since your boy 45 was such good pals with him and is another known predator.

I find it amusing that the supporters of the current regime keep deflecting.  The more liberal and centrist posters here seem to be mainly focused (at least lately) on tRump's phone call, and the constitutional fallout from this misbehavior.

In response, we're hearing comments about the VA Governor and other state level pols in Virginia, the Bidens, Hillary, Epstein, Warren, the identity of the whistleblower and more.

To the 3 more vocal right wing posters who participate here (and any lurker who feels like piping up) please tell us:

Was it acceptable for the President of the United States to threaten to withhold $400M in military assistance from an ally who is currently under military assault by our chief geo-political rival unless this ally carried out an investigation into his (at the time) primary political rival?  Was it acceptable for Giuliani and Sondland, neither of who have either diplomatic credentials or experience in these matters to carry out a shadow foreign policy, bypassing the professionals already in place representing OUR interests in Ukraine?

Even your elected Reps and Senators are running like spooked deer when confronted by questions about this.  Why?  Why attack process?  Let's talk substance.  I'm genuinely curious if you all believe that tRump acted appropriately or if you're just supporting him and his behavior because you are so strongly opposed to the Democrats' current activities.

Let's take this one by one for all of you morons who cannot get any nuance.

"Mexico is not sending (sending not the correct word)  their best":  That's correct.  Border patrol will tell you there are rapists, murderers, criminals (other than illegal crossings) drug dealers and probably some good family people coming.  What is wrong with that statement?

"Where's my  African American":  Please not a bad statement in the context he meant it.  Try not to be so literal...but your hatred will not allow it.

No interest in Obama's birth certificate...thought it was stupid so will not comment.

"Well, that kind of says it all, thanks for the proof of your bigotry again. It is not acceptable to call Native Americans, or even people with minuscule amounts of Native American blood, "Pocahontas." Didn't your mother teach you anything?"

This statement proves you are an idiot.  As Warren is not a Native American.  Stop being part of the always offended crowd.  You must be zero fun to be around.

My friends would and do find your way of thinking non-nonsensical and overly what is wrong with the U.S.

You also probably think Bruce Jenner is a woman.

There was nothing either nuanced or humorous about that post, Cat.  But if you consider yourself so nuanced and humorous, perhaps you could get a booking on a conservative comedy channel.  Oh... yeah, I don't think there are any.  Wonder why?

And... calling people idiots and morons is no way to influence people.  Typically, this is done with logic and facts.  Still waiting for your treatise on the Electoral College, and your answer to my question about the phone call.

Napacat whether or not you have a homosexual bone in your body I'm not going to call you a f@g. In much the same way I'm not going to call bman a n!gger, Purplehaze a retard, or TheOldMan a wop. It doesn't really matter if one is black (he happens not to be), one is autistic or otherwise mentally challenged (he certainly isn't) and one is Italian (I don't believe he is). I just don't use those words for anyone. In my head or out of my mouth or with my fingers on a keyboard.

"Pocahontas" is no less a slur than any of those other ones I typed above (which you hopefully cringed while reading). It has no bearing on her ancestry, it's a slur.

All of us here need to be better than that, you included.

How sad that our self-confessed little bigot thinks that his responses address the obvious racism and bigotry of his hero. His responses just reinforce them child.

However I will not take the time to respond to your responses because I think it's obvious to everybody you're just digging yourself in deeper. In addition, when you do respond it's with logical fallacies, non sequiturs, strawman arguments and whataboutisms. You play right into the stereotype of stupid Trump supporters.

Thank you for coming to my TED Talk.

An early speech in Citizen Kane brings to light the thinking of people like Bloomberg. This dialog of Kane's is supposed to be noble, but reading it now it actually seems like the beginning of the end of Kane. I don't think this was this deliberate.

Anyways his guardian, rich man, Walter Thatcher is discovering that his ward is against everything he and the other rich men of New York are for. So Kane explains to him his newspaper's new philosophy:

"KANE--On the other hand. I am the publisher of the Enquirer. As such, it is my duty - and I'll let you in on a little secret, it is also my pleasure - to see to it that decent, hard-working people of this city are not robbed blind by a group of money - mad pirates because, God help them, they have no one to look after their interests! I'll let you in on another little secret, Mr. Thatcher. I think I'm the man to do it. You see, I have money and property. If I don't defend the interests of the underprivileged, somebody else will - maybe somebody without any money or any property and that would be too bad."

That last sentence in retrospect is so weird. However, it is prescient: save us from the rich out to help us little folks. Or, with the current president, those who would rob us.
