A seasoned British doctor lost his government job as a medical assessor after more than three decades because he refused to renounce his Christian belief that gender is determined at birth.

Dr. David Mackereth, 56, a National Health Service employee, was fired from his post at the Department for Work and Pensions in July because he would not use a transgender pronoun, saying he believes "gender is defined by biology and genetics" and the "Bible teaches us that God made humans male or female."

This week he lost his case before an Employment Tribunal in England, where the judge ruled his beliefs were "incompatible with human dignity."

So this is today's Fox State News' item that has you clutching your pearls? (Click on the highlighted word "Christian" and see where it takes you.) Of course they're not talking about a US president blackmailing a foreign country to dig up dirt on a political rival.

"...his Christian belief that gender is determined at birth."

I'm not sure where in the bible Christ, or any of his disciples, said that gender was determined at birth. I'm mostly familiar with the Jewish bible, but perhaps you can provide a quote from the New Testament that backs this up.

"Bible teaches us that God made humans male or female." And that, if you believe the Jewish creation story, is what he did. However, nowadays it's people (parents), not God ,who makes people, and the bible in no way addresses people who feel they were born the wrong sex.

Tariff news: https://www.yahoo.com/lifestyl...rench-143318534.html

Really great for the American consumer, huh?

Gee Really.  The orange haired guy says that China is paying all the tariffs, so I guess the EU will pay also.      We have already been hit with these and are passing them on to our clients as a separate line on invoices "US Tariffs",    No compliantes from our clients yet

Interesting article in the Washington Post yesterday regarding the transcript of the Ukraine call.  Based on an analysis of word count in other calls trump has made with world leaders, it appears that roughly half of the conversation was provided.  Half.  Kind of makes you wonder just a little bit what was cut out of this transcript, no?

Article here

Important to note that the "most transparent" president in history said, "This is an exact word-for-word transcript of the conversation, taken by very talented stenographers."

I've thought long and hard about the question as to whether the President's conduct relating to the Ukraine phone call is worthy of impeachment.  And numerous other things.  Until today, I did not think his conduct, however terrible, rose to the level of impeachment.

But now...........raising the tariff on French wine!  HE HAS GONE TOO FAR! What's next? Epoisse?  The man has got to go.

Finally finished George Conway's treatise on the mental health, or lack thereof, of 45.  Other than a bit of a reluctance to accept a layman's diagnosis of someone's psychological condition, I found it to be accurate, penetrating and very frightening.  Good job, George.  I can't wait to find out the secret of how you manage to go home every night.

One of my best friends lives in high places in DC and in same social circles. They absoultely hate each other, sleep in separate rooms, staying together for the kids

The orange pile of dung once again is helping Russia, Syria and Iran while turning his back to our allies, the Kurds. The Kurds will be slaughtered.

All this is coming from several of Trump’s fluffers, Haley, Graham and McConnell. The blood of our allies is on Trump’s hands. The bastard will do anything to change the narrative.

great and unmatched wisdom

When I first heard this, I assumed the commentator was making an snarky (if accurate) editorial comment on dRump's most recent foreign policy fiasco.  He actually used the term to refer to himself.  If it wasn't so frightening, it'd be hilarious.

When Trumpanzies read this phrase do they shake their heads up and down and think to themselves: Yep, unmatched wisdom, that's our boy. If so, that really shows what an ignorant and sick bunch they are.

Yeah, "But I got our troops out of Syria".   Love how he is a "great with unmatched wisdom".   Nancy has more brains in her pinky that he does in his orange head,  We need to impeach Pence and Pompeo also

The United States is now complicit in the genocide of our most vital allies in the containment of ISIS.

Yet despite how we “can no longer afford” to be police in the area, 45 stands ready to help the Saudis defend themselves against an Iranian attack. Either the kingdom ran out of money to defend themselves, or someone  just really admires how they handle those pesky journalists.

A complete fucking disgrace.

This is the problem  with international allies. When they lose their usefulness, they become disposable. Then they start hating US foreign policy because we left them to die at the hands of another 'fine fellow' in Turkey.

Too bad there is not a huge supply of oil there, or enough rich folks to stay at a Trump hostel
